Donations

We are hugely thankful for our growing network of individuals and groups who generously support us by donating items that we pass on to families who are in need.

This area of support has really taken off in the last couple of years, and we are now able to welcome many women and families to our donations room. We are particularly pleased to be able to offer help to people currently housed in hostels near us who have recently arrived here with nothing.

We also give many items to pregnant women across the wider Liverpool region who are claiming asylum and are referred to us by their Health Visitors for practical support with their new baby. We constantly need prams, newborn car seats, Moses baskets and all things baby!

Donation drop off location:

Where: Toxteth Tabernacle Baptist Church, Park Road, Liverpool, L8 8AN

When: Wednesdays and Fridays before 2pm (termtime only)

How have donations helped our service users?

We recently had a mum who asked for help, as she and her family had not long arrived in the country and had very few belongings, including one of the children only having trainers with holes in them. The family were able to choose clothing and items needed to keep warm and to do daily activities.

We also had a family expecting their first child. They had no money to buy anything for baby, who was due in a few weeks. Your donations provided some relief to this family as they received everything they needed, from a cot to a full changing bag.

What happens to your donations?

When we receive the items, they are checked and sorted into categories. Then they are put on shelves and into boxes in our storeroom at the Toxteth Tabernacle. The families in need will come into the room and are given time and space to browse and choose what they need. They are given bags to place the items in to take home, or if required a volunteer will help with delivery.
